Tangram Receives “Power to the Parent” Grant to Expand Support for Families Impacted by Disability

Apr 23, 2025 | News

We are thrilled to share that Tangram has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Power to the Parent grant from United Way of Central Indiana. This opportunity will allow us to further our mission by empowering parents and caregivers of children and adults with disabilities through increased access to support, community, and mentorship resources.

As part of this initiative, we are excited to collaborate with Ausome Indy, a passionate local  advocacy group dedicated to uplifting families impacted by disability. Together, we will develop and expand programs that address the unique challenges caregivers face—and celebrate their strength, resilience, and potential.

Through this grant, Tangram and Ausome Indy will focus on creating:

  • Peer-led mentorship opportunities where caregivers can connect, share experiences, and support one another.
  • Community events and workshops to foster meaningful relationships and provide actionable tools for navigating the journey of caregiving.
  • Resources and support groups that help families feel more confident, connected, and equipped in their roles.

We know that when parents and caregivers are supported, their children thrive. That’s why this collaboration is about more than just programming—it’s about building a strong, welcoming community where families impacted by disability feel seen, heard, and valued.

We’re deeply grateful to United Way of Central Indiana for recognizing the importance of this work and investing in the wellbeing of families in our community. Together with our partners, we’re excited to help families not just get by—but truly flourish.
